FAQ

  • I’m based in Palma, Mallorca, Spain.

    (CET - Central European Time).

While I work on the CET time zone, I work with clients globally, with flexibility to work with your time zone.

Not only do I manage time zone differences, I use them to our advantage. Having a treatment delivered ahead of time in LA or NY for example can be a great advantage.

Collaborating with teams in the USA to co-produce work can also be a great way to produce larger projects.

Clear communications, and being available out of hours - no problem.

  • Please give me a call or send me an emails, or what’s app and we can discuss your project requirements.

I’ll send my current rate card. Tailoring costs to our project together.

  • I always deliver the first batch of visuals at the end of the day.

Following an initial briefing from the director, having received the scripts and where possible the agency call and deck.

Visuals are sent via the Pixie Set Platform. On request I can send a drop box link or upload to your server.

For most projects I recommend a minimum of 2 days for visual research. To ensure all sections of the treatment are covered, with time for some moving references and GIF creation.

I offer a 3 day package - which combines visual and design. This package is ideal for quick turn around, shorter treatments. 10-20 pages.

  • This depends on the project / script and of course the Directors wishes. Visuals are taken as screen grabs (hi res) from feature films, TV series and TVC’s. As well as editorial magazines, or specific websites.

Imagery can be filmic, cinematic or photographic and fashion forward. From sleek commercial imagery to documentary style. With a depth and breadth of experience I ensure the visuals are collated and curated bespoke for your vision and the visual tone and style of the film or project.

I don’t use stock imagery, or low res imagery (unless requested) from social media accounts.

On request I can create quality AI imagery to achieve a unique and specific visual style, effect, character, styling and wardrobe or location. As well as a moving reference.

The visuals will bring your vision to life and usually I find they help a director in the ideation of a film - taking inspiration from the visuals is often part of the process. It can help with the writing, character / script development. Comedy moments, and additional scenes…

  • I primarily use InDesign as the industry standard. I can also accommodate your project if you like receive work in Google Slides, Keynote or as a webpage.

For written work I use google docs.

For AI work I use a multitude of programs. Additionally I work with Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Adobe suite in general.

  • Once I have received the directors selects and words as well as a brief for the treatment design. (Past treatments as a reference point is always helpful).

I begin the layout. Sending a few example pages with the first few hours of the treatment design day for sign off on the look and feel of the treatment.

Draft 1 is create - a WIP version. With elements in place, visual selects, words and graphic elements designed and pieced together.

The WIP 1st draft is sent at the end of day 1. Ready for director / production feedback. For day 2 any word revisions would be received at the beginning of the day, feedback on changes, additional visuals to find and any other notes ready for day 2. A WIP 2 is sent by mid afternoon, giving us enough time to make any further changes and additions and to perfect all aspects of the treatment.

For quick turn around shorter treatments your V 1 version would be sent 2-3 hours prior to our end of day deadline.

  • I recommend the director and I check in during the process. A quick check in to make sure visuals are on track on day 1. A check in on day 2 to ensure the next round of visuals are on track - to re focus the search. Checking in again on day 1 of treatment design - approaving the look and feel of the treatment. A further check in on day 2of the treatment design (If we have the four days) to confirm any additions, changes and overall refining of the treatment.

I’m happy to take feedback over the phone, via email or what’s app.

The director can have as much or as little input - depending on their schedule, availabiity etc. The more input I have - I appreciate. Yet I’m also experienced in working more autonomously when required.

Any additional materials that will help us we the creation of the treatment as extremelly appreciated - this most definately helps with stream lining the creative process and deliver a spot on to the directors vision - from the get go. Whether that is film references, imagery sent over by the director, other creative supportive material, animatics, sound scores, specific camera, edit, cast.

An ideal way to feedback is a PDF of the treatment with notes. For writing jobs, notes marked on our shared Google Doc.

I’m always happy to receive a WhatsApp message from the Director at any point to receive an image they particularly like or a page from the treatment that works really well for them - this keeps us nicely on track and collaborative thoughout the entire process.

  • I work to a 9 hour days with a 1 hour break for lunch (ideally).

I can work to a start time of 7,8,9,10 am - whichever works best with the schedule / time zone difference.

I always prefer a super early start to a later working evening - always sharper at the front end of the day. So please look to keep this in mind.

I can work up to 9pm - latest. Anything we need further to this I will always roll that over to the next day.

Mistakes can be made when working in the dark, so it’s always more efficient to take a break and start at 6am the next day - if duty calls.

If the work is part of a larger project ie over 4 days I can be flexible with Saturday / Sunday rates.
